Well well well, here is it. The summation of my favourite photos from 2020! It was definitely a shortened photo season with about half of my weddings being postponed to a future date. Non the less we still managed to capture some pretty kick as images in 2020!

The first wedding of the year took place at non other than the beautiful Disney Aulani Resort in Hawaii! It was a super cool experience with a great group of people. It was a bit of a gimme for great photos though, so you will see a few images from that wedding in this post ;).

Still I was able to meet with a lot of great couples, families, and grads in 2020 and created some kick ass shots around Mid/Southern Manitoba as travel was restricted for a large portion of the year. Most of my shoots (probably 50% of them) were taken up in the Clear Lake area, as I shoot there a ton being only about 30 minutes away.

I hosted 2 photography workshops this year. The plan was to do them 100% in person, but with Covid we were forced to do things a bit differently. The first “Perceive” workshop is a full on wedding photography workshop (everything about wedding photography) which I collaborated with my friend and photography God Melissa from Sugar and Soul Photography. We ended up doing all the lesson in 5 zoom meetings, and then when it was safe to do so, we met as a group to do some in person shooting at the always beautiful Hawthorn Estates in East Selkirk.

My second workshop “Flash and Creative light” was more focus on seeing good light, and using flash photography. I did this one in similar fashion as I did all the teaching via Zoom, and then when it was “Covid safe” we met up at Danceland in Clear Lake (who graciously offered me their space), and did a live in person shoot.. This honestly ended up being the best way to do the workshops, as it gave people some time to let the info saturate, and then come time to do the in person shoot they had some time to practise!

With the year slowed a bit due to Covid 19, I was able to actually have a couple weekends off which is pretty rare for me to have a weekend off, let alone a day. It was pretty nice to be honest.

I have no idea what 2021 is going to bring for my weddings at this point, but I do know that no matter how big or small the weddings end up being, we will be there to capture more amazing moments, in the most creative, authentic ways we can!
